Global Design Excellence: A look at the A’ Design Award and Competition

Nominations will close on March 15 for the awards that recognize excellence and innovation in design across a wide variety of categories ranging from architecture to fashion. All countries are invited to participate.

The A’ Design Award and Competition is one of the most prominent and prestigious awards in the design business. Founded in 2010, they have become an international platform for designers and creatives seeking recognition and visibility in the industry.

Every year, a panel of experts in design and in different areas selects the winners. The evaluation criteria focus on aspects such as originality, creativity, functionality, sustainability and project innovation, to name a few. Winners are recognized as leaders in their field and become role models for the global design community.

The international competition celebrates several categories, including:

• Product design: includes products designed for everyday use such as furniture, consumer electronics, tools, sports equipment, toys and games, among others.

• Interior design: this category recognizes design projects for homes, offices, stores, hotels, restaurants and bars.

• Architectural design: awards design projects for buildings, structures and public spaces such as bridges, parks, squares, among others.

About the jurors

It should be noted that the A’ Design Awards and Competition has an anonymous jury system, which means that the jury members do not know the identity of the designers behind the projects they are evaluating. This assures that the projects are evaluated objectively and fairly, without bias or prejudice.
